I'm new to this, so sorry if i sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. I am currently a high school senior; I will be attending Norwich University this coming fall. I applied to USNA late last year, and then eventually withdrew my application. I did that because I suffered a concussion and didn't want to risk actually getting in and failing. I figured an extra year to build myself up academically and physically couldn't hurt. I looked around a bit, and I noticed that it seems that not a lot of people at Annapolis went to college before they got there. Is that because there is simply less people interested, or are there other factors that play a role in that?

Variety of factors. About 1/3 of the class are not directly out of high school. That includes those who attended prep school, prior enlisted or attended college. You can look at past year class profiles to see how many college admits make up a class. Some decide to reapply and others don't. Plan Bs become Plan As for many. They end up happy where they are and decide to not reapply. Some decide they want to reapply.

Look at the sticky above about reapplying... Even though you aren't a reapplicant, you are applying from college and I suspect some of the info applies to you. For example, take a STEM course load similar to what Plebes take. Your goal is to demonstrate to Admissions that you can excel in a tough academic environment. Do well in NROTC -- that is another nomination source and the Skipper's recommendation can carry alot of weight. Good luck.
