Received invite for an Overnight Visit

I have fully qualified status, and I wet to SLS, yet I haven't received one. My malo told me that the southwest region may not have sent them out yet. Just curious, are any of you who have received letters in the southwest region?

LOE

We are in the Southwest region and DS got his letter today. He has everything done except DODMERB (still gathering the paperwork for an administrative remedial) and CFA.

Oh, only a handful went to the northeast. I was beginning to get really discouraged, but I suppose living only 40 minutes away might be a good reason not invite someone for an overnight visit XD

Received one today dated 11 Sept. 2012. Stlcards2012, if your number is correct, does that mean around only 150 candidates received or will receive this letter?

Does it really matter?
Be grateful that you received one and focus on your file and your nominations. :thumb:

Not sure, that would make that sense though. I did not ask him the overall number, but the NE is the most densely populated region of the country so it may be even less. In any case, I am not the person to ask:).

SLS attendance does not indicate how competitive a candidate is. In my opinion, even if you went to SLS, going to USMA during the "real" year will give you an additional experience and lens through which to make your decision on whether or not to go to USMA. Remember that SLS was executed during the summer when the Corps was out and about doing their Military training - that is only 3 months out of the year. Seeing what the other 9 months will be like is important too.
