Received Letter of Assurance!!!

Hi everyone! Haven't posted on here since Feb. but I have a lot of updates!
Got accepted to and went to AIM Week 3. Was one of the 2 Honor Grads and today... I GOT A LETTER OF ASSURANCE?!!!
Never saw this coming and I am still in shock. Does anyone have any further info on LOAs? I had never heard of them before today. Does anyone have advice from experience on the process or how strong exactly the guarantee of an appointment is?

CONGRATS!

My DS got an LOA from USNA around this time 4 years ago.... they are a guarantee of an appointment as long as you fulfill the requirements laid out in your letter...
My DD got her LOA from Coast Guard 2 days ago ..... hers states that she has to be medically qualified ( already had her DodMerb and passed) and her application needs to be complete by the EA deadline and she will get her appointment.

Congrats! When did you apply, thought USCGA Early action application opens up in August? Wow getting LOA this early is very exciting!!

Yep! Opened up August 1st. I haven't even submitted my application yet.. the deadline is October 15th in order to meet the LOA requirements. I'm SO HAPPY!!!

Congratulations!! My daughter was in AIM Week 3 session as well. USCGA is now her first choice. She was the one with the highest female PFE. The male honor cadet plays soccer at my DD club and he also received an LOA. You both should be very proud!

I hit the wrong button.. so u still have to meet all requirements.. however what a relief and an honor... my DS just finished swab summer, and is now a 4c... he is very happy with the decision he made to attend CGA, and it all started with the LOA.

We are in a part of Texas not getting mail for a while. In the grand scheme of things, it's certainly not a big deal. Just wondering.

It came via snail mail and I didn't see anything in Bears Den unfortunately. Sorry to hear that it sounds like you were affected by Harvey, prayers!!!
