I received an LOA from USMA a couple months ago in August. DoDMERB requested additional medical information from me before rendering my qualification status and after I submitted it last week, I was labeled DQ. My West Point portal currently says “Disqualified-Pending USMA Waiver Consideration As of: 2024-09-30” (A few days ago, it said as of 9/26). I’ve heard that an LOA “automatically” leads to a waiver being requested, but I haven’t received any notifications from West Point since I was disqualified. I also emailed my regional admissions office with a statement regarding my disqualification. Is there a way to know when/if a waiver will be requested??

Yes, USMA should be making the waiver request. I recommend that you prepare all of the details that you can about your 'condition.' Potentially, you can submit doctor's letters, medical details, etc. You can provide the details to your DoDMERB case manager. Also, I recommend reviewing all of the details on the DoDMERB website as there are lots of FAQs and other information that will guide you through this process. Good luck!
