Hello,

I recently just received my Letter of Assurance last weekend.
It was one of the best days in my life!
I know Candidate Visitation Weekends are granted by "invite only", but I would like to visit USNA and experience what it's like in the day in the life of a Plebe.

Will I get an invitation soon?

I would like to gain a glimpse of the ambiance and expectations of the academy before entering the gates on June 27th. :) 142 more days til' I-day! Let's go c/o 2017!

Sincerely, usnaco2017

Contact The Academy

Don't wait, call the academy and talk to respective admissions contact and upon pulling your file they will assist scheduling to a CVW. They want candidates like you to feel welcome at the academy. I am a father of a current Plebe, we did exactly what I just recommended and they jumped at the opportunity to accomadate us. Congrats, but keep moving forward with your evaluation of the academy.:thumb:

Longhorn,

Great! Thanks for your response. I will contact the Candidate Guidance Office tomorrow. I am looking forward to join your son and the rest of the brigade of Midshipmen.

Are you 3Q with a nom? Congrats of course, but just wondering why the LOA at this late date rather than an offer of appointment.

One explanation might be that DoDMERB is not complete. Noms were due on Jan 31 so unless the LOA was mailed before that, which seems unlikely, then that seems like the only possible explanation.

If you have an LOA (Letter of Assurance), you'll almost certainly get a CVW (Candidate Visitation Weekend) offer. But you can ask. You'll get one.

NOTE: Every once in a while I like to define the acronyms we frequently use on this site because newcomers are often not aware what they mean.
