Recognition During Covid?

Heard that USAFA doolies were recognized earlier this month. Apparently USNA recognizes their plebes after their Basic training summer. How does recognition work at KP? I've heard a million different things by my older friends who go there. Some say that the commandant's department assigns a tentative date ahead of time and tries to recognize plebes at around that time. But last year's plebes got recognized online due to covid. How does covid affect recognition now? I've heard that plebes take a bunch of tests on weekends and run a lot of events. If covid delays things, but not to the point of being online, does that mean that future plebe classes will naturally be recognized later? I've heard in some cases that recognition is optional and is known as being blackflagged.

The last "in person" and on campus recognition was on 4/22/19. My guess is that it will be in person again this year. But the date is anyone's guess.

I don't know that there ever has been any official criteria for recognition. I remember that mine was in the dead of winter (the Run was carried out in the snow. Hard to forget that) in January. I believe it is a decision made by the regimental staff and the Academy.
