Our nomination sources require 2 recommendations, one of which must be from an academic source. Knowing that USNA requires a math/English recommendation, should the nomination recommendations be from different sources? I guess what I am asking is if it is redundant to use the same sources? Do the academies see the recommendations from the nomination sources as part of their file should the applicant receive a nomination? Thanks in advance!

The SAs do not see the package you submit to your MOCs for noms. The advantage your MOC is giving you is that it can be any academic teacher. If you have a more solid relationship for instance with a history or science teacher this gives you flexibility to have them write it unlike the USNA app that must be an English and math teacher.
