Recruit from Sports Camps

Anyone have or know someone who was recruited from attending a sports camp at one of the academies? Seems like positive press and a great experience for kids but curious to see if they are a place where potential recruits are discovered.

In DS` summer admissions brief the USMA Admissions officer said yes - the individual camps (major was lacrosse recruit) are a good way to engage the staff. But of course nothing is guaranteed.

My DD was a track recruit who initiated contact her freshman year with coaches from all the schools she was interested in. That got her on the radar and a number of coaches from different teams kept up with her throughout her HS career. Send the head coach or assistant coach an email expressing your interest, along with current HS coach contact information in case they can't talk to you directly yet.
