Recruited Athlete

My DS is being recruited as an athlete. How much weight does that hold in the admissions process? I'm trying to get an idea how competitive his application is for admissions. He scored a 29 on the ACT but a bit low on the GPA side (3.3U/3.5W).

It can help -- Will depend on the sport. KP coaches can be very good advocates for your son or daughter during the admission process. My son is a plebe who was recruited for baseball. A bigger factor may be how competitive your state is/how many candidates are applying from there. It would seem like the ACT and GPA would be competitive.
