Recruited Athletes are what percentage of the incoming class?

I'm just curious... approximately what percent of the incoming class at West Point are recruited athletes? Also, is it possible to "walk on" a sports team at West Point?
 
And before anyone gets offended. They are all good kids or they wouldn’t be there. They see how difficult it is to be a Cadet and play D1 sports. Remember at the end of the day they are there to be an Army Officer and spend at least 5 years on Active Duty. Sometimes that sinks into a kid who has other options to play somewhere closer to home.

I love that you put that our there. I know a young lady that was on a D1 team at USNA; however, she wanted to go into intel, one of the most competitive MOS. She gave up the sport to attain her career goals, knowing she couldn't do both. She did get her first choice at selection. There is definitely a trade-off at some point for athletes, and they are not easy decisions to make.
