My post was in reference to a number of things I've read here. And I think your post, and the tone of it, validates the point that RetiredNavyHM made, when he suggested he may have to kill this thread. I sincerely hope he does.
My comment about the enlisted folks was in support of a post made by Pima. It didn't mention your name in my post any where, but apparently you felt it was directed at you personally. And frankly, if you think the recruiter is a moron simply because he may, or may not have understood the facts surrounding the Academy, then please do consider my post directed towards you.
The folks who defended, or tried to explain other possibilities for why the recruiter mayh have said what he did, was in no way, by my interpretation any thing other than them trying to help you understand where he may have been coming from. It appears that you didn't want to listen to their suggestions, but rather took an argumentive stance with it, insisting in your belief that he is in a moron.
So with all of this said, I also shared my opinions with you. You can do with them what you like. But I no longer wish to discuss this with you. I'm sure the recruiter was trying to do his job, as best as he could. I don't know him, and I don't know you. I'm sure neither of your are morons, regardless of what your personal knowledge is on service academies or boot camp, or recruiting procedures and policies. If during your few months of recruiter duty, you found yourself lacking in knowledge of the job, I don't think it would be fair to call you a moron. Nor is it fair for you to call a recruiter a moron for not being knowlegable of the details of a service academy.
I've got nothing else to say on the matter, I wish you the best. And should I ever meet this recruiter of yours, I would thank him for his service, not judge him by what he doesn't know about service academies of other branches.
