Yesterday, my daughter had her Army ROTC Scholarship interview at Temple University in Philadelphia. At the end of the 45 minute interview she was offered a 4 -year Army ROTC scholarship!
What a huge surprise! She will get her letter in November. Temple had 2 4-year scholarships available this year - indeed the early bird gets the worm! They even told her not to worry that if she was accepted at any service academy, she could get out of her scholarship.
After the interview she was able to meet with cadets, get a little tour and she took and passed the PFT. She had a great day, Temple is a great school and she is quite happy to be on her way to becoming an officer.

Oooooo! Congrats to your dd!! She has to be thrilled. And you too! :thumb:

Thanks JM,

Yep she is very thrilled. It is nice the know that a back up plan is in place and that she is very happy about it! Thanks for all of your support, as well.

Congratulations to your daughter! My son had his interview with the PMS there and wants to get back there one day to thank him.

This has to be the record for the revival of the oldest thread!!

I guess mischief eve is in full swing!

OBTW, JAM's DD did not in the end take that scholarship.

JAM,

Welcome back.

Please update us regarding your DD. I am sure right now you could be a gold mine for posters regarding how the OML worked for your DD and the process as an MSIV.

Best wishes.

You're alive!

Lol! Yes, I'm alive. I check back rarely and just happened to stumble across this thread! Can't believe it was 7 years ago! The girl is great. She is commissioned in 2012 is a quartermaster, graduated from BOLC, has a new unit and loves the Reserves. Quite a convoluted journey!
