Rejection from USNA 2022

I was actually at Tailhook in '90 (thankfully was deployed in '91 when it all went public....)
I think I met a dude named Fat Leonard in one of the admin suites just off the pool deck.
I'm pretty sure USNA did not have a monopoly on bad behavior in Vegas back in the day

Loved the pampered Ego comment. DD's comments on I-Day on Stribling. I am hungry and tired. I asked her how the day went? She responded that she had been yelled at and grabbed by the face mask by many a coach her whole life in three sports and this day was nothing. New Field Hockey coach once told her if she ever did that on the street she would be arrested for assault. Her response was you never watched an ice hockey game. Any child who has played sports at a competitive level has not been given a pass. Her High School used to play NAPS in some sports. Their comments were always THEY WILL KILL US.

"SDSUAlum's back handed slap at USNA with references to Tailhook, Fat Leonard and drug busts is unwarranted" - Sorry to upset you, but that was not my intention.

"I will be the last to argue that USNA Admissions is perfect, and that USNA grads are perfect leaders. USNA midshipmen and graduates have flaws - just like every other college. I do think it is fair to set high standards and expectations at USNA, but nobody is perfect" - Strongly agree!

"but I don't think anyone here can tie Tailhook, Fat Leonard or drug busts to USNA's admission process." - Agreed, poorly written. Wouldn't be great if we had a crystal ball, looking into the future.

Apologies to you and others I have offended.

@AF6872 - mentioning Foundation Scollarships...

DD received a USAFA Foundation Scollarship 6-2014. On the list they offered then - (I think there were 8 choices) there was only one approved prep that was an accredited University. Schreiner University in Kerrville TX with the Greystone Acadamy.

She chose that so she could keep going with her math. It was a fabulous college experience with a great blend of military. She was able to clear a number of classes her first year at USAFA with what she did at Schreiner.

There was a great blend of kids that went to Greystone Acadamy, Some with Foundation Scholarships from all the SA’s, some who had received TWE’s - and wanted a leg up for the second round of applications, and some that thought it would be good to be with Greystone through the application process. They offer amazing help with first and second time SA applicants.

They are combined... So everyone in the prep school is also a full time student at the university. The prep school had about 75 kids from what I remember. They stay right on campus in a dormitory.

Old Navy BGO is correct...both my wife and I work in roles equivalent to a BGO for Stanford and without a hook, that is one thing you are better at than anyone else on the planet or that makes you completely unique, or come from an underprivileged demographic, you have no chance. Of course if you're a movie star, sports star, have a senator or congressman for a parent or a scion of industry ready to make an 8 figure donation to the endowment, there are always exceptions. We embrace the USNA process as one far more straightforward.
Just stumbled on your interesting comment from last year, especially given recent events. I was just saying to a friend how the USNA process is protected from this because of its complexity.
