Rejections?

I also received my TWE this morning. I guess admissions decided not to wait until the 21st to send those out.

Just got my rejection. Not disappointed or anything because I never received a nomination for the Air Force Academy. A bit surprised that they sent out their rejection letter this late because I didn't receive a nomination.
One way to interpret that is to imagine they grouped you with fully qualified, promising applicants without noms who had real potential to be in the class. For any noms under their control, they could assign them to people in this group and offer appointments. At some point, they have no more of those discretionary noms to give. You were in play until the end game, and there just wasn’t room in the class.

Son got his TWE in the big blast of them this morning. No appointment, no prep school offer coming. Can't start re-applying until June 1 per the communication.

Sucks as it would have been his first choice. But he is set for a local state school with some scholarship money to help. And he is definitely considering applying again.

@IronmanDaremo We were pulling for your DS, sorry to hear about TWE, hope he decides to reapply. We were in same boat 2 yrs ago when mid-April TWEs came out. This can be thought of as an opportunity to build on an already solid application and make it stronger for next year.

Thanks!

He has a good plan for his other non-military choices. And it turns out the school has NROTC, so he might consider joining that. We both really wish the USNA would just sh-t or get off the pot knowing that he doesn't have a nomination for his LOA.

And our oldest ships off to AF BCT on May 4th, so we will have a zoomie in the family! ;)

Received my TWE this morning. A bit of a bummer but I got an AFROTC scholarship yesterday, so I'm excited to still serve, even if its different from, what I had been shooting for. I do plan on reapplying I think.
That's the spirit! you have some time to think about it and in the meantime, start school with a great attitude and remember the Cub Scout motto... "Do your best!"

If younger goes NROTC, you'll have some great branch rivalry at home for years!

Oh, we've always had that!

Dad and grandfather (his dad) both retired as Naval officers. Dad's brother retired enlisted (reservist) AF. Nephew was Marine reservist that recently converted over to active Army. And I was active Army, released from contract to go to NAPS, so both Army and Navy!!

We have quite the diverse service in the family! ;)

Just received my rejection this morning. Really disappointed, but I am planning on doing AFROTC and possibly reapply so at the end of the day I am going to complete my goal of serving in the Air Force. Good luck to anyone still in the running, I'm pulling for you!

Very squid-heavy pedigree, sounds like your nephew may be the shining star among the group and getting to the right one on the green-side!

DS received the dreaded TWE from USAFA before dawn this morning and from the USNA yesterday. The good news is has been offered AFROTC type 7 also yesterday so UF Aerospace Engineering it is --plan "A-" ! As many here probably feel, he is disappointed, excited, and relieved all at the same time. What a ride! Now to decide whether to make a run at the SA again or not starting this summer --at least for his most preferred. Now that we have a much better idea of what makes a magic-winning combination, I am thinking the decision will be predicated on what the postmortem reveals along with some tough self-assessment. Good luck to all of you! Remember just being able to submit a qualified SA application you are in the best-of-the-best club ....

I received my TWE this morning as well. I will be attending MMI as I was accepted into their prep program. I know where my application lacked as due to Covid, I was not able to take the ACT or SAT after March 2020 to improve my score, so I will be working on that, but I'm proud that I received two nominations, continue to maintain a 4.0 GPA and I'm competitive in athletics, ECA's and volunteering. I'm looking at this as just a minor setback and plan to be back for next year. God Bless all of the applicants that received an appointment and those of us who will continue to shine brightly no matter what path we take to commission. I leave you with one of my favorite quotes:

"You must show no mercy...nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you...for your greatness will silence them all."

Received my TWE for USAFA today, bright and early. Yesterday I received an AFROTC Scholarship Type 2, so there is that. Still waiting on USNA! LET'S FLY! Good luck everyone!
was the TWE actually received by mail or seen online?
