tjb, I would not wait for official snail mail if you see the info on his portal. That could take many weeks. In fact, my DD was qualified way back in September and her portal was changed pretty soon after that (about 2 weeks). You'll never guess what she received in the mail TODAY; an official letter from DoDMERB saying that she is medically qualified, (4 months later). If I remember correctly, there is information on where to send remedial paperwork on the website. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.The status with DodMERB was put in on 1/21. We haven't received an actual notification letter in the mail yet. I was waiting for that. Is that unnecessary? Counting Friday, Saturday and today, that was only 3 business days for a letter to be written and mailed. DS has a less than one page letter drafted now. It's probably too long.
Just one more idea. You might reach out to CAPT/Dr. Glenn Merchant. He is a former DoDMERB director and Navy physician. He is now a consultant for cadets and mids.
