I have not received a nomination for USNA. However, I just checked DODMERB today and their Waiver Authority has requested AMI. Are they considering giving me a waiver or are they just trying to see if I can be eliminated early since I don't have a nomination?

If you don't have a nomination by February 28th 2400 hours your will not get in to the academy. They are still looking into your application until deadline tomorrow.

Well that leaves a Supt's Nom. They are like unicorns. Do the remedial regardless of the fact it won't lead to an appointment. A DoDMERB is good for two years so if you reapply it's knocked out. If you do ROTC. It's already done.

Conventional wisdom says candidates are offered NAPS to improve on something, and improving academics is why many are there. But I recall someone posted on the forum the NAPS attending DD/DS stats and they were pretty high - so you never know.
I also posted previously a child of an Alumnus Navy Captain has such poor stats that they would not even open an application for him (nor offer NAPS to him - to me that is the real definition of "academically DQ'd").
If you are offered a NAPS spot, take it and never look back. Best of luck!
@ktnatalk when my BGO interviewed me in the summer and asked if I would be interested in doing NAPS I enthusiastically said "Yes!" so that's a possibility. I assumed I wasn't competitive for USNA because I wasn't competitive for USMA and I never got a nom, but it's hard to make assumptions with such little info. Thank you!

I am not sure, but I believe BGOs are required to ask that question regarding NAPS. I am not telling you to read into it too much, but looking at you top post in the thread again... I don't think they need to ask for AMI - they can "eliminate" you (that's a horrible way to say it) without asking for it. I'd recommend follow what they ask if you haven't given up. You haven't, right?
@ktnatalk I was just confused because more than giving up I told myself that I should start looking at Plans B, C, D after not getting the nom; I just wanted to think realistically. I thought they would eliminate me after 1/31 but they didn't. I am awaiting a reply from my BGO, but he's extremely busy so it may take a bit. I am not fully giving up until I get the TWE though

You could contact your admissions counselor asking the question. You should always work on plan b's from the beginning, but until you are given the "bad news email", you are still in the running, which in your case, if you don't have any nom, it may well be an offer of NAPS?
