So I have a remedial request for my DoDMERB and I was wondering if that meant that I needed to make another appointment with the same place that the initial exam was taken?

It sounds like you just have the portal request, correct? Wait for the snail mail and it should have clear instructions on what is needed.

Not necessarily. Depending on the remedial, would you be more comfortable with your own physician or the contracted one?

Just keep in mind, if you use your own physician, you will have to pay out of pocket, depending on your insurance

I got an email this evening saying that my status was changed/ updated, and that I should go to the website to view the "letter" but I'm not sure what that means. I've clicked on the link for the "file" but it's just pages of encryption codes for another file that I don't know how to get in too.

The remedial is just that I need to redo my urinalysis, which I was kind of expecting because I took the initial exam during my menstrual cycle, so I need to take another one, that's it. So I just wasn't sure if that meant that I needed to drive the 2 hours to go have that done again, and if it was recommended that I go there instead of my own physician.

Using your own physician will allow you to know the results before they are submitted. Not so much with the contract office.

My DS remedial urinalysis was done at a location different that his initial exam. You will be assigned a location for the remedial (same process as your medical) If you would prefer to have your physician do the remedial that is fine. Just notify DoDMETS / Concorde. It does not make a difference where you have it done. Just remember if you choose your own physician you are responsible for the costs. Hopefully you will be assigned a location that is not 2 hours away.

Do I wait for a physical letter in the mail before knowing where I will be assigned for the remedial? Or am I just not looking in the right place on the website?
