Well, it was ALMOST correct.

The "prestigious award" came two days late, but today I was selected to be in my senior class Hall of Fame. Only 20 students are chosen out of our 614 seniors.

Apparently I was evaluated on my grades, leadership, "classroom ability" (whatever that means) and staff evaluations.

So, all joking aside, is this something worth noting in applications?

It couldn't hurt to send your Admissions Counselor an email telling him/her about the recognition. (Be sure and send information about what the selection criteria is as well). That said, it is unlikely to carry much weight as the characteristics leading to your selection have already been demonstrated in other aspects of the your application.

Whether or not it adds anything to your file, a very nice recognition indeed. Well done.

It gives you an excuse to contact your AO. As long as you're respectful of their time (no more than monthly, not need a response, include something of value) they do like to know you are still actively interested and following up.
