Like many of you traveling to Parents Weekend, I made my hotel and air reservations long ago. However, when pricing rental cars from the Denver Airport, the quotes were outrageously high. Prices have now dropped significantly. I'm not a shill of for Hotwire, but I just got a full size car from Hotwire for $23.99 per day (Thurs to Tues $201.00 total, including tax, etc.) For those of you who have reservations for a rental car that were in the $30's, $40's and even the $60's per day, save money where you can and look into it.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think you are a shill for Hotwire, we should all be looking out for each other.

Big savings!

Big THANK YOU to MikeandChris...we just booked rental cars for PW and a follow-on trip to San Fran and Napa for total savings of $500 compared to what we had booked through "another site". Our anniversary just got happier!

Mike - I'd found the same a few weeks ago. I booked awhile back and was shocked to be paying nearly $500 for a weekly total. We were limited since we're getting in late in the evening and a lot of the cheaper agencies close at 10. I booked something I wasn't very happy with and then about 2 weeks ago was able to get a rate of $210 with National. My husband is an elite type member - not sure of the exact term - through all his work travel so it will also help toward more free days there too, plus we get to skip the lines. But it was more than double that when I first looked at it. I just booked through the site, not Hotwire. I've been watching since to see if it goes down more, but guess we'll stick with that!

We found the same. Originally had booked the car early and a mid size was nearly $500 for the week. We went thru our airline to book a car and got a full size for about $200 before taxes etc.

Thanks so much. I rented thru Hotwire and saved approximately $ 200 from the other reservation I had. This car is over $ 350 savings from the I-Day rental. Thanks again for the heads-up.

Same here with the savings. We were going through Thrifty and got the same car for 1/2 of what we had booked months ago.

Car Rental

Thanks for the heads up. I save over $100 on my car rental.

Glad to help out!

Glad to hear some of you saving some money (so we can spend it on our cadets and family this weekend.) We'll be by Thudgate for a bit with nametags on, so we're looking forward to meeting you.

Thank you!

I called my rental car company and in 2 minutes they altered my reservation -- the price is reduced by $50! I love this forum.
