Report Time = BCT Squadron Assignment?

I admit it... my internet seach skills have failed me. But I swear I remember at least one thread here discussing the idea that cadets could tell what BCT squadron they were assigned to by the time they were required to report.

So, if that premise holds true.... any insights into which squadron reports at 0700 hrs?
 
Reporting times

Last year was the first year that they had squadrons report by time. If I recall 7am was the B squadron which would be CS 6-10 during the school year, however, they could have changed the starting times. If I recall, we found out on our portal which BCT squadron DS was in but not the flight.
The most important thing for parents is to know the BCT squadron and their lanyard color (which is what you look for on the Webguy pictures).

2017 will be reporting by BCT squadron, just like last year. However, because each BCT squadron will have 5 flights this year instead of 4, Aggressors will be academic year squadrons 1-5, Barbarians 6-10, etc.
 
Based on last years colors and Falcongirl's information, it appears that the 2017 BCT squads will be organized as shown below. BCT lanyards and PT jerseys will be the squadron color (Key for parents checking WebGuy) and Basics will transition into their corresponding academic squadron on A-Day. I suspect reporting times for each squad will be slightly different since there are two fewer BCT squadrons than last year.

other than the 0700 time it says in the handbook, we won't find out our specific report time until june correct?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that your specific reporting in time is listed on your travel orders. Have you received those yet? Congrats on the appointment, by the way! :thumb:
 
it's in travel orders, says 0700 27 June 2013. is this true for everyone else though? anybody have any other times listed?
 
In our travel orders I believe it says something along the lines of, "prepare transportation now that could get you to the Academy by 0700 June 27th." The reason the wording is important is because it is not saying you MUST get that transportation, you should get it, likely suggesting that that might be your reporting time, but it might not.

But that is just my take.

checked my portal and in my travel orders it says

1. You are invited to travel from the address indicated above to the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado.You should make travel arrangements that will insure your presence at the Academy by:
7:00 AM, 27 June 2013

does anyone else have a different time?
 
I think you were originally correct, afa! It seems like we all have 7:00 AM as our times. I went back through the books and yes, it seems like we'll be receiving more specifics in early June. Sorry about that!

Alternatively, though, it could be the (statistically believable) chance that all the posters to this thread are in the same squadron.
 
Last year the portal was updated about two weeks prior to I day with information regarding report times. I believe an email was sent that told you to check your portal. Don't quote me on the exact timing of the email. With that information, you can get a generalization of what group you will be with.
