Hello Community,
While filling out my West point application I noticed that you can request prior sent CFA scores from the navy. When I did the CFA for the navy I did not have to record any videos of pull ups or push ups, because of this will I be able to just request the scores and call it good? Or will I need to record my pull ups and push ups?
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

DS's experience, for whatever it's worth . . .

DS did the CFA under the supervision of a Naval Officer near home. I recorded the USMA required videos (pay attention to their guidance) at that administration. The LT uploaded the scores to USNA.

DS uploaded the videos to USMA along with a request to get the scores from USNA. This turned out to be a slow process. The videos turned "green checkmark" right away, but the scores didn't get transferred. I do not remember how long the wait was, but DS changed his portal request to have LT upload the scores directly to USMA, which caused the CFA to turn "green checkmark" within a day or two.

I can't say what you should do if nobody took videos of your CFA administration. Good luck!

My son took CFA at NASS two summers ago and passed. USMA would not accept the scores due to pull ups and push ups not being on video. If I recall correctly, he would not be able to just record the pull ups and push ups. He would have to do an entire retake. He ended up accepting his USNA appointment, so he did not bother doing the retake. Check with your liaison officer.

Verify with your FFO or R.C. My son passed the CFA at the NASS and was able to request for a transfer of his scores to USMA. He only needed to upload pull-up and push up record. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully as there are specific requirements. Best of luck to you!

This seems to be an issue that is determined by each RC. There seems to be no question that a video is needed. Whether a complete re-take or just event specific videos are needed but not a re-take seems to be why individualized guidance may be necessary. Who knows, it might even matter how strong the CFA scores at NASS look. And, a particular RC might treat different candidates differently depending on scores or even some other issue in a candidates file.
