Request for 7th semester transcripts?

My son asked his admissions counselor the same question about 7th semester grades. This was the response:

"Please ask your school counselor to either mail or send electronically your 7th semester transcript to our office – we don’t accept emailed or faxed copies though. "

And below is the address he provided:

HQ USAF/RRS (Attn: Region I)
2304 Cadet Dr, Suite 2300
USAF Academy, CO 80840-5025

We are obviously in region 1. Hope this helps.
Thank you! This is the same address I was able to come up with and feel comfortable sharing with the counselor now to send transcripts! I appreciate the guidance!

So I’m getting mixed answers. Should we send them if they aren’t requesting it? To the USAFA that is

DD’s were sent by certified mail & they are now showing in the portal. The address above is where we sent it. My thoughts are if it says in the Candidate booklet to send 7th semester transcript as soon as available, it’s probably best to do so.

I would agree. I sent mine in December even though it was not requested. However, I’m not sure if they can add more documents to your file since the 31 January deadline for updating your application has passed.

What do those do that didn’t get those grades until after the 31

My son asked the same question this week. His ALO informed him that 7th semester grades were not required to be sent in before the 1/31 deadline, but to be sent in when they become available.

I’m assuming that’s why there wasn’t a date listed for those grades...purely because every school
Is so different. My DD’s showed up on her portal
with a date of 2/2 this week. So I would guess it’s ok even after Jan 31.

Should I feel this nervous to send over my 7th semester grades? I have never had anything lower on my report cards at any point in my life and this last semester I ended up with a C in a core class. I am so afraid this is going to make me an automatic no or they are going to think I’m slacking off my senior year when really the class was just really hard and over my head. Anyone have any experiences similar?

Nope - don't worry about it too much from an appointment stand-point, it's a common story (and out of your control now anyway). Figure out why it was so over your head though - because I can almost guarantee most if not all of your USAFA (or other tough college) classes will feel like that. What could you have done differently to learn the material? And if it was a math/science class - this becomes especially important because you will likely have the same material again at USAFA. For many, USAFA is the first time they encounter a class where they actually have to study intentionally to learn the material. Sounds like you have a class forcing you to improve your study skills in high school - this is a good thing if you can learn from it now instead of when you are swamped and overwhelmed at USAFA.

How would a counselor send in an electronic copy without email? My portal doesn't have a place to send it in and my counselor said she didn't see anywhere either.

We had to mail ours to the following address:

HQ USAF/RRS
2304 Cadet Dr, Suite 2300

If your school uses Parchment or Naviance they can submit electronically, but our school doesn't use those programs. It showed up in my DS portal they were received and reviewed within a few days of mailing them out. We were nervous and sent them overnight, but that was probably overkill.

@CKR2024 Ask yourself what would a leader do in your situation? Some might address it as follows:
  • Take responsibility for the grade.
  • Make a plan to fix it.
  • Implement & be fully invested in your plan.
  • Have results available for review or, if need be, change the plan if needed.
Be prepared to explain why you received the C (own it), your plan to address it (for ex. extra help, tutor, take-home project, increased communication w/teacher, etc.) & the results so far. Also be able to speak on what you learned from what happened. It ain't over til it's over. Good luck!

Should it turn red again instead of the green check next to transcripts?
Can you explain to me where you see these check marks? My daughters are black but she is been 3Q are we missing something?? Should she be clocking somewhere she’s not?

Did you put a region on there like the other post had or mailed it just like this?

This was the address that DS was given to use by his USAFA admissions counselor's secretary. Our school is small and doesn't have electronic capabilities for transcripts. She mentioned to him that no region was needed.

This is in the instructions to candidate:

If your transcript was sent during the first semester of your senior year, you must ensure your high school sends us a transcript with seventh semester grades as soon as they are available.

Also in the instruction booklet it states the address for any and all documents to be mailed or faxed to:

If you need to mail/fax information to USAFA Admissions, use the following mailing address or fax number: HQ USAFA/RRS 2304 Cadet Drive, Suite 2300 USAF Academy, CO 80840-5025 Fax: (719) 333-4200/3012

Our DS highlighted the heck out of that instruction book.
