Hi all,

I just began my fall semester of Junior year, and am wondering if I took enough classes and extracurriculars to maximize my chances to get into either West Point or Annapolis.

My schedules over the years are as follows:
3 English classes (English 1 Honors, English 2 Honors, AP Lang)
4 Math classes (Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calc) (I took Algebra 1 in 8th Grade)
2 Science classes (Biology Honors, Physics)
2 History classes (AP World, APUSH)
3 Years JROTC (Held positions of 1SG, Operations SGM, and Armed Drill Team Commander)
3 Years Spanish
2 Years Electives (Theatre 1 and 2, Health, Intro to Media)

I've also been in the Armed Drill Team, Color Guard, and Honor Guard teams for JROTC.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

I have another question: Will it be disadvantage if someone does not have any JROTC background/experience. ? I understand that participation in JROTC can be looked as intent to participate in military, what if someone does not have any JROTC.

Based on conversations with our DS High School guidance counselor and what I have gleaned from wading through all SA websites, you might want to look at upper level math classes. Our DS did take Alg 1. Alg 2, Geometry, dual credit honors Pre Cal and dual credit honors Cal. The Cal is helping him on SAT and ACT according to him. Good luck, and make sure your guidance counselor knows your goal and can help you craft a solid schedule to achieving it.

For any college you would want to be taking AP Calculus, an AP science (Chem or Physics)...also look if SAs and Universities want more Social Studies classes (e.g., Economics or such).
