Coming in as a immature freshman, i didnt care about my grades at ALL. My 10th grade year i let my GPA drop to a 2.5. Over that summer, something clicked. I realized how much i need to improve, and i did. I brought it up to a 2.9 last year. This year im doing even better with most As and 1 B. I hope to have another .5 or .4 jump in my GPA to put me in better standings. Should i wait until i improve my GPA before i apply for the scholarship, or should i put in an early scholarship now, and re-apply for the later deadline, so i can get a higher SAT (1040), and GPA.
Note: This is for the AROTC Scholarship.

It is good that you're working on that cumulative GPA, but your standardized test score of 1050 is the national average (50 percentile). That is the one working against you, in your application.
Applicants with average scores and average grades do not typically receive scholarships - unless there was some sort of serious adversity standing in your way - which you have overcome.
Certainly study for - and retake - the SAT, but consider taking the ACT as well. Some students score higher on one versus the other.

There’s only two more board dates available, so I’d say to apply earlier than later. This will at least give you a better chance since you’re probably going against a smaller applicant pool.
