Restrictions on applying for other scholarships?

When accepting the NROTC scholarship or in the materials received afterward, I remember reading that DD was restricted from applying for more scholarships. I remember because my husband and I had a brief discussion about it, wondering what the possible reasons could be for making that mandate. Then we moved on as NROTC was covering her tuition and she already had a merit scholarship covering her room and board, so no issues for us. Now she's looking at a summer study abroad opportunity (that doesn't interfere with CORTRAMID) and there are scholarships she could apply for to cover the cost. I can't find anything confirming that restriction; it's possible I'm misremembering. Anyone have any info? TIA

There is absolutely no reason NOT to apply for other scholarships unless there is some commitment involved that would conflict with the NROTC scholarship and obligations. That's all I can imagine they could be concerned about.

My DS is finalist for a local scholarship, he just went back to ensure it could be utilized for all areas of education not just tuition (since tuition is covered). He has also applied for a few others. I told him yesterday maybe he could use the money to do a study abroad over Winter session.

I think kinnem hit the mark. I’m not sure what restrictions to other scholarships there might be, never saw that, but programs like the Chinese Thousand Talents leap to mind. Know where the $ is coming from.
