DS had to redo and resubmit his push-up video. Has anyone else had to do this? And if so, what was the timeframe for hearing back or BFE or TWE after resubmitting?

I had to do it again, RC let me know pretty quickly when he had reviewed it. This was in January though and was the last part of being 3Q for me

I had to resubmit push ups a 2nd time and pull ups a 3rd! It’s very important that the form is perfect. 1 perfect pull up and 15 perfect push ups for females, 3 perfect pull ups and 35 perfect push ups for males. Good luck!

My DS had to resubmit both Pull-up and Push-up videos. Pull-up was due mostly because we didn't have his whole body in frame. He had a LOE and has received his BFE.

So the reviewer of the video will actually count how many push ups are "perfect" and discount any that aren't the right form? Or will one bad form (e.g., didn't fully lockout arms) mean I need to retake the whole thing?

Last cycle (class of 2024) our son was told in advance by RC that if any of the push ups or pull ups didn't have correct form or finish the 'movement' than they would be discounted. If too many are discounted, or your whole body isn't in the frame, they may ask you to resubmit. I do know in the last cycle his RC also told him to make sure he was ready to submit his very best CFA as they wouldn't allow him to redo it to improve his scores. Again, that was last year, not sure how things are going this year.

I know this is an old thread but my DS is a college reapplicant with 2 noms to USMA. They’re requesting he redo his push ups again. This is the 2nd time they’ve requested this. He knows what he’s doing wrong so he will hopefully remedy the situation. It’s so nerve wracking for my DH and I. DS takes it all in stride…

I feel your pain. My DS is a first time applicant with noms and had to resubmit the pull-up video. Not sure how long it will take to be approved (hopefully). He was told that the video didn't clearly show his chin clearing the bar. Think it may have been a function of wearing a mask in the gym so hoping his resubmission is ok!

DS had to submit the push-up video twice as well. They are very strict on the form. My son had done 75 push ups on the original video that according to my pedestrian eye would have made his wrestling coach smile. Not so with admissions. After the first reject, DS was under the impression that he needed to redo the video and he'd better get 75 push ups as that was what he got the first time. So, he knocked out 75 pushups in 2 mins - rejected again.

The feedback was that the reviewers would rather see 35 perfect pushups than 75 less than perfect. We went back and looked at the video of instructions:

- feet within 12 inches
- keep head up and in line with back
- go all the way down - 90 degrees with elbow/arms
- go all the way up - this was the issue with my child. He was doing them so fast that it was really hard to discern if he was going all the way up. They want to see those elbows nice and straight on the up swing. They'd rather see 35 slow methodical, lock out the elbow pushups than someone hammering quickly through numerous pushups.

Thankfully, after following the above, DS did 50 perfect pushups. We sent in video and waited. Started to get nervous that something was less than perfect and that he was not going to get a third chance if this one was screwed up. Finally, after 3 weeks, the pesky yellow check next to CFA turned to green.

My advice - watch the instruction video a couple of times for clarity. Put tape on floor to mark the 12 inches for feet and a piece of tape to mark where to focus eyes so head is straight. Then, give them some nice methodical pushups that are easy to see good form and you will be all set.

My DS had to redo his video becuase I got a text during filming which stopped my camera. Oops. As long as you correct what they tell you to correct, it will be fine. What the problem with the filming or his form?
