Retainers for Plebe summer

Does anyone know what the guidelines are for retainers over Plebe summer? My DS does not have an "orthodontic plan" as referenced in the PTR packet and has had braces off for 5 years. He does, however, wear retainers at night and has since braces came off. Should he bring these with him on I-Day or should I just put them in a care package later?
 
Plebe summer and the retainer

My son was allowed to keep his retainer with him dring plebe summer. He did not have an orthodontic plan.
 
I brought mine on I-day I believe. i was able to keep them, wore them like 1-2 times a week.
 
Yep, bring 'em (and wear 'em!) As a recently retired Navy orthodontist, be assured that nothing prohibits your future mid from having retainers. No orthodontic treatment plan is needed or even applicable, as a patient in retainers is likely no longer in "active treatment."
(BTW, my son, who is in retainers will be bringing his on I-Day next month...)
