At a gathering yesterday to salute local Navy personnel back from Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuba and elsewhere, one young boy described his father's deployment as "horrible."

"No one to play with you at night, and help you with your homework and encourage you," Evan Robertson, 7, said after the ceremony when describing how he missed his dad, Cmdr. Thomas Robertson, a pilot who served in Iraq last summer....

At a homecoming celebration held at the Naval Station in Annapolis for sailors who recently returned from the Middle East, children from the Child Development Center at the Naval Station cheer on the men and women as they ride by in busses carrying them to the ceremony.
