    Kalashnikov joins the Army at 19 with no education, designs the most popular gun in history by age 27. Amazing.

    Goes to show the long term devastation of the thoroughness of the Purges throughout Soviet society in the 1930's.

    No, the Soviets didn't care much about royalties. He didn't patent the design when he created it.

    He certainly changed the world. Amazing what you can do, when you want to save your country and let tank mechanics tinker!
