What does the regional commander do?

Is he/she part of the admissions board?

How much influence does the regional commander have on getting an appointment?

@jl123 responded to your questions about the role of the RC in your first thread.

I know this is probably a stressful, anxious time for you and/or your candidate but the admissions process is a marathon, not a sprint. If someone reviewing someone’s file like the RC is giving good feedback, I would take that as a positive sign and continue to drive on.

What if you stop hearing from the RC? Is that a bad sign? Are they moving on to better candidates?

The RCs are the primary Admissions Officer Representative for that Region. I know all of them and they are outstanding!!! If someone is DoDMERB DQd, they make the initial assessment of whether the applicant is "competitive for and offer of appointment." (Whole person concept; competitive in their district are on the Senatorial slate; passed the CFA). If an applicant is, the RC then recommends to the Director of Admissions to pursue medical waiver consideration.///Obviously, they do lots more than that in administrative areas. But they are all Super Stars! :wiggle:

They are your greatest advocates in the admissions process and will help you immensely if you show both demonstrated interest, professionalism, and that you genuinely care.
