Roommates ?

I have a funny story… My husband was class of 99. He had the same group of roommates during his 4 years there. One of them was my brother… and the other one my brother in law! Yes, my sister and I ended up marrying our brother’s 2 roommates! 😂 it makes it super fun to be all together.
They are all still besties.

That’s sitcom level material!

How many years did they serve?

My brother is still in. He teaches at the academy. My husband went reserve after 14 years and joined a law firm here in Annapolis. He is still in the reserve. And my brother in law served for 20 years and is now retired and working at the Pentagon. We all live within 10 minutes of each others.

This made me smile! This happens a lot actually. Okay maybe not both room mates, but the number of Mid Sibs who marry friends or roomies is not uncommon.

I think females mids have a better shot at having the same roommates for longer than males by virtue of numbers of each in a company. I know one Firstie female mid who had the same roommate since the beginning of plebe AC year. My DS has never had the same roommates for more than one semester. And that’s been great because he’s had a roomy from USAFA (2/C fall), a varsity football player, and a foreign exchange student. Not to mention the great shotgun blast of ‘21. After commissioning, these young officers will need to get along wherever and with whom ever. I get the sense that all this shuffling has been a great experience.
