One of my boys is at USNA and I get an opportunity to buy an awesome portrait every year. My other boy is in ROTC and just graduated from Airborne and I have no portrait opportunities! What's a proud mom to do?

I googled. I searched forum. Any ideas?

I'm surprised. When my son went to Airborne they had the option to buy a large framed picture with their class, had a set of wings and an engraved plaque with their class number and name. They had to opt to buy one when they were there. I guess you could call Ft. Bending and see if you can get one but they run so many through it might be difficult but worth a try.

As far as a portrait, they really don't do those unless the battalion decides to do something. You may have to have him bring his uniform home and get one done on his own, or ask for one for Christmas, always a good gift for the parents.

My son mentioned a picture opportunity at Airborne and I tried to find a link to it. Of course my son is no help. So, you suggest I call Fort Benning? Was it a group picture?

I was really wanting a portrait.

Yes it was a group picture but there may have been an opportunity for a portrait but he would have had to sit for one so if he doesn't remember doing that then a portrait won't exist.

They do take a group picture but your son would have had to purchase one when he was there. Still worth a try contacting Ft. Benning

Google 5Jump photo. They take class photos and individual photos of every class at BAC. The individual photos are usually of the trooper running off the DZ with their reserve and repacked chute after their first or second jump. The class photos are done I think during tower week. Anyway, if you know your son's roster number should be easy to locate. They also produce a DVD for each class showing highlights of each of the three weeks of training.

Yep we got it, It is him, stopped for a picture before boarding the plane with an Airborne Tab all of the decorations mentioned above.

Looking back I am glad he was not the one who landed in a pool.
