Does anyone know how many ROTC nomination applications put in by the Battalion PMS actually become nominations?

I know there are 20 slots allotted to ROTC appointments, but I am wondering how many people get the nominations. I first received a letter on my portal stating that West Point had received the request from the PMS for a nomination a few months back, and just yesterday I received the actual nomination in the nominations section of my porta,l and I am wondering how many people I am now competing with for an appointment in the ROTC category.

DD also has a ROTC nomination in her portal (from September) and I have read that there could be several hundred (ROTC and JROTC are included). Not sure how many of the candidates holding these become 3Q'd however. Hopefully someone with more experience will jump in :)

That is 20 appointments in the total brigade. Not 20 per year. You should compare the 20 appointments for ROTC to the 5 appointments for a MOC.

Here's what I was told on another thread regarding the same issue. I'm not sure how many get nominated, but I believe it must be quite a few. Probably around 5 get appointments each year, if one looks at what happens with MOC. My DS has a ROTC nom for USMA and hoping it translates to an appointment! Good luck :)
