Hello. Five years ago my son won the four-year ROTC scholarship. He did the interview and later the physical fitness test. My daughter is starting the process and thought somebody had mentioned she has to have the physical fitness test completed first before the interview. Is this the case now? Thank you.

My DS was able to schedule the interview without having the physical fitness test completed. Once your status changes to Interviewee, you are able to schedule the interview. Since the interview was a few weeks out, he did go ahead and take the fitness test. However, he was able to schedule prior to having it completed.

NROTC-MO - The interview and the PFT can be conducted on the same day. For AROTC - I think my DS had to submit the PFT card to cadet command before he was cleared for his PMS interview. This was last year, not sure about current cycle. Either way - best of luck to you.

Thank you . She will interview for both Air Force and Army. Is there a deadline for the interviews? She would like to have everything completed for the first round. I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you!

Been here long enough to know to read the old posts. I was seeing some different answers and love that people are quick to respond here if something is a bit confusing. A lot going on here with my son having graduated from a military academy and getting him ready to move into his first apartment for BOLC. The answers help and thank you to those who are helping :)

I was able to do my PMS interview before my fitness exam, but he could not upload my interview until my fitness exam was uploaded.

It has been while for my DD too, she commissioned in May. However, my advice would be have her follow the prompts in the portal, like mentioned above, once the status changes to interviewee she can schedule, then once she schedules she should be given Instructions what to bring to the interview, in my DD’s case she was instructed to bring her signed fitness test card with her to the interview.

My DD applied in summer 2018. She was given a list of 5 schools as suggestions (closest to our house) to do an interview. Of the 5 schools, 4 of them required the PT test to be done prior to scheduling the PMS interview. Looks like AROTC unit dependent. Interviews are a premium in the summer and early fall, so the units want to spend time only on those serious enough to finish an app.
