I have enlisted into the Army Reserves and will complete BCT and AIT next year. I am planning to join ROTC at school afterwards through the SMP program for Army Reserve soldiers. However, I will only have two years of school remaining at the time. So to be able to skip the first two years of ROTC, will I have to attend LTC even though I have already completed BCT and AIT?

If I am required to attend LTC, can I join ROTC in the spring and then complete LTC the following summer? Or will I have to first complete LTC before being able to contract with ROTC?

LTC is no more. It has been replaced by CLC which you must attend to commission. In your situation you should also ask your local ROTC Bn if you will need to attend CIET as well.

This isn't quite correct.

CLC has replaced the old LDAC, not LTC

LTC was the training program for those that were entering ROTC late or starting ROTC while getting their Master's Degree.

If someone completes BCT and AIT they won't be required to attend CIET, they will be required to attend CLC the summer after their junior year (or 1st year if they are going for a Masters) along with every cadet in the program.

Per Cadet Command, LTC and LDAC are both gone. Cadet Summer Training ,conducted at FT Knox, includes CIET and CLC.

Your correct, both are have been replaced/renamed.

LDAC has been replaced with CLC.

CIET has beed added for all cadets including those that are starting ROTC late. As it was in the past, those that complete BCT and AIT are not required to attend CIET as they were not required to attend LTC. CIET will be the replacement for LTC.

I was just clearing up that LTC was not replaced by CLC.

Hey Leon...you won't have to go to LTC/CIET if you are a BCT grad. Talk to the ROTC battalion where your plan to go to school though. Your bigger concern should be whether they have room in the Battalion to contract you.
