ROTC-MO Question

My DS is able to access the NETFOCUS portal but when he enters SS# and Birth Date to check on the scholarship status it says there is no record in the system. We contacted NSTC admin and they stated that it appears that the application was missing documentation, but it’s possible the Marines track things differently and to reach out to the Region Admissions Coordinator.

Region coordinator stated board results were available and that my DS needed to report to the local Recruiting Station to get the letter with the results of the board. He assured us that the application was complete and fully reviewed by the board despite the portal not being updated. Letter received was a letter from the Region Admissions Coordinator himself, nothing from the Marine ROTC Board or anything from above that recruiting office. Is this normal? The portal still shows no record for my DS of today.

Of note, DS' letter stated that he did not receive the National Scholarship. Just wanted to find out if other ROTC-MO candidates had a similar experience, and if notified of not getting the scholarship, was a letter received and who/where was it from?

Make sure you are logging in to the 2020-2021 portal and not the 2021-2022. Did your DS not check the portal to verify and track the process?

Yes, checked both years. He was only checking the main NETFOCUS portal, did not know the check the page with the SS# and Birthdate. He was informed the board results wouldn't be released until April 1 so there was no need to check the portal regularly.
