ROTC no longer an option... PLC?

Hello all,
I have had the craziest year so far from being awarded a scholarship to NROTC, to losing it to a medial DQ that was not waived, but then finding out that the AMI I submitted was not processed 6 months later... But long story short I'm now looking into the PLC program since losing my scholarship, and I was curious as to whether or not the PLC program is a guaranteed commissioning route upon completing PLC Jr's and Sr's as long as you succeed physically, mentally, and morally in each session.

I have heard that technically the USMC does not have to grant you commission, however I have also heard that for the most part they do.

Can anyone give some insight into this?

PS - I realize this should be in the PLC/OCC thread, however I thought that more people would be surfing this thread than that one. Thanks.

However, there is also no obligation on the part of the Marine Corps to offer a commission upon completion of the course (although, unless one totally screws up, they usually do).

You will still need to deal with your medical DQ, but that is for a different thread.

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Explore all possibilities, but as was stated, you'll have to deal with the medical DQ. You'll have to get a waiver again. BUMED is BUMED regardless of commissioning path. As with anything, if you're going to pursue it, be persistent and explore all options.

Good luck.
