Here a mom trying to help a very busy DD, we cannot find the exactly day where she can start her applications for this Scholarships, she is a Junior now, so she know, in Spring everything will starts, but want to know fist day i neach one (will apply to all), and wich paperwork she should have ready when open her application...(transcripts, etc), we just find in each website that is around Spring of Junior year, but when?...somewhere we read for NROTC starts in April 1?..but we do not know if is for this year aplpicants, and Army and Air Force does not have an specific day yet..or Im missing something?. Any help will be appreciate, I want her to be ready to apply the earliest possible.

It varies by service. NROTC is normally April 1 or shortly thereafter. Army and Air Force start dates seem to float as I recall. Hopefully someone can give you better dates, but one can always check each day, or each day starting April 1

For NROTC, applications open on 1 April, 2017 for 2018 Fall (NROTC website). Have: SAT/ACT scores (send them to Pensacola using the school code 0656 when you take your tests), transcripts to send to them and to use in the application process for grades, resumes (to send to teachers when requesting recommendations), teacher contact info to fill into the application as NROTC sends the recommendation material digitally to teachers for completion, and a workout regime. Full list here. I was also asked by my recruiter to fax over as many certificates, awards, and as much proof of community service hours to him as possible so he could flesh out my file, which is reviewed during the applicant interview.

Now with Army ROTC, it's a bit simpler. You will need a physical copy of your transcipt, since you have to upload a scan of it to your application for review. You don't need to have your test scores sent in officially; I just took a screenshot of my SAT/ACT portals and uploaded those pictures onto the application. There is also a supplemental area where you can attach scanned documents that fall into certain catergories (like awards). Lastly, teacher recommendations aren't required, so you don't need to find teachers and send out resumes, though I did bring a resume to my interview, so she should have one regardless. I didn't apply to AFROTC, so no help there, sorry.

Not application related, but visiting the schools she may be interested in for xROTC may be a good idea. Now would also be a good time to look into that.

AFROTC application opens up in June. Early ,early, early !!!....prepare so to submit whole package and interview well before Oct 1st to meet the first board in November. Have the best Act or SAT finished by July.

Army applications usually opens around 20 JUNE. If you want, you can PM yours and/or hers email address, and I will send you all of the information for Army once it opens.

PS - I think your Post Subject Line is wrong. It should be AROTC > NROTC + AFROTC
:)

I see I did not put AROTC when posted, try to edit it, and did not let me do it, just the message, but thank you MohawkArmy.
