I have a scholarship deadline at December 1st...It is a merit-based scholarship. Can I apply for this scholarship if I am applying for an ROTC scholarship? Thank you.

If not reputable enough already, Stealth_81 is correct.

You should apply for as many as you can. It never hurts. The issue with some schools, such as Texas Tech, is that they cap the amount of aid you can receive at the cost-of-attendance (room, board, certain expenses). Meaning ... If you receive multiple scholarships along with other forms of aid, you might have to decline or accept/defer parts of your aid package. Just food for thought.

Btw, some college's merit scholarships are for tuition only...so if you have an ROTC scholarship that pays tuition and fees, the non-ROTC scholarship cannot be applied to room and board...in some cases. This was the case with our DS.

Agreed. DS received 4-yr NROTC + merit scholarship from the university that will add up to a "full ride" plus the monthly NROTC allowance. So keep filling out those apps!
