Hi, I was looking into applying for the Army ROTC Scholarship and was a bit confused by the difference between the Army PFA and the ROTC PFA.

Looking online (https://m.goarmy.com/content/dam/go...dfs/hs-scholarship-physical-assessment-17.pdf), I saw that the Army PFA gave you 2 minutes per event, whereas the ROTC PFA only gave you 1 minute per event.

Does the ROTC Scholarship test you on both? What are the requirements for the ROTC PFA?

You only take the ROTC PFA. Like the guy above me said, you will take the Army PFA (which will be the ACFT soon) once you arrive at your detachment.

Do you know where I can find the average/required scores for the ROTC PFA? The table in the link only shows passing Army PFA scores.

Ok, I was just worried because I can only do 40 push ups in one minute, when the chart says 42. Thanks though
That is not the table for the scholarship scoring. That is for the 2 minute test when you are on ROTC. Here is the table you are looking for. Also, while it is good to know the minimums, always shoot for the max. Knowing the max is helpful so you can save energy for the other events. Good luck! https://berks.psu.edu/files/pdf/9706/2019/01/16/rotc_psb_hs_scholarship_handout_sep18_v1.pdf

When I spoke to an Army ROTC Coordinator, he referred to the test Fitness Test for the ROTC Scholarship app, the "1-1-1" which is different than the PFA that needs to be done once you're there, he explained. Here is the form he said to have the tester fill it out, and then the applicant can go into the application portal and scan it in as one of the required documents: https://www.goarmy.com/content/dam/...hip-physical-fitness-assessment-scorecard.pdf

The table for point conversion can be found in Robert Kirkland's book "the Insider's Guide to the Army and Air Force ROTC Scholarship..." For males, the max reps for 1-min Push Ups is 50, 1-min Sit Ups is 50, and 1-Mile Run is 6:30. For females: 1-min Push Ups is 40, 1-min Sit Ups is 50, and 1-Mile Run is 7:18.

If you do more/do better than these, you don't get more points. But if you do less, there's a gradient scale that tallies up your points for a total score out of 150 (which would be a perfect score). All three "events" are weighed equally where if I remember right, the Navy weighs running more than the sit-up/push-up events and I cannot remember AF right now, but they are all slightly different. I am new to this too but I was fortunate enough to talk to a very helpful Coordinator!
