Good Afternoon,
I have a few questions that I cant seem to get answered. I am currently in high school and I have been exploring military options for a couple of years now. I've decided that AROTC is the best fit for me as I want to major in nursing. A school that interests me is the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Here are the questions that I have:

1) Can I apply for the 2-year scholarship as a senior in college or only after I have completed 2 years in college

2) How much does the 2-year scholarship pay for?

3) Does the 4-year scholarship pay for everything?

4) Is the 4-year scholarship hard to get?

I may have more questions but these are the main ones

Thank you!

I'm not an expert on Army ROTC, but I do know that the Army gives away the most scholarships out of all the branches so you have a better chance of getting one through them. The scholarship will not pay for room and board, only tuition.

Here is an important link if you have not seen it yet: https://www.goarmy.com/rotc/courses-and-colleges/programs/nursing.html

#2) The two year Army scholarship pays for either two years of tuition and mandatory fees OR up to $5,000 per semester in room and board costs.

#4) The four year pays for tuition and fees for all four years as stated above, or $5,000 per semester toward room and board. It also pays a small living stipend allowance per month.

Some schools will pick up the tab for room and board for ROTC scholarship winners but the scholarship itself covers either tuition OR room and board but not both

ROTC Scholarships pay for 4 years of tuition, fees and include a monthly stipend. What tuition is will vary from school to school. With respect to Army, you can choose to use your scholarship for tuition or for room in board. This is a flexible option for those applicants who might have been awarded tuition scholarships through other sources. There are also some schools that include or discount room and board if you are on ROTC Scholarship.

There's not a clear cut answer to whether it is "hard" to be awarded an ROTC Scholarship. You have to meet a certain standard with respect to grades, SAT/ACT scores, and physical fitness. You can do a search on here or on the internet to obtain the specific requirements/standard dependent on the branch you are interested in.

You can apply for ROTC scholarship between junior and senior year of high school. Or you can try and apply for a scholarship in college.

2 year AROTC Nursing scholarships rarely are available. The 'numbers' are managed from the beginning and they rarely have a 'mission' for more nurses after 1st year - sometimes 2nd year.
