Hello, im a current junior in high school and I’m applying for a ROTC scholarship. Ive already opened the application and tried to knock out some stuff. However, Its say I am ineligible because i will not graduate. This is because the applications for the class of 2018 (2022 is college) is not over. I was told by a ROTC officer that the application starts in June for my class, but on the army website is says new applications for the 2019 class can be opened by February but must be finished by March 2018. Do I have to finish my application by March?

Thanks guys.

No, you do not have to finish the application by this coming March.

If you are a junior in HS, you must wait until the June of your junior year (June 2018) to open the Army ROTC application. You will have to complete it by March of 2019.

(I think what you saw on the website is that people for the school year 2018-19 can open the application by February. That would be the class of 2018, as 2018-19 would be their first year of college.)

It is good that you are trying to get a head start, but it's not possible for you to actually start working on the portal itself yet.

Ok thanks for your help, but I have already opened an application and started filling in stuff on the portal. I’m guessing when June comes the error stating that “I will not graduate” will go away? Or will my entire portal have to be restarted?

You would need to call the techiesfor an answer to that... But I would be prepared to start over.

Would the same go for NROTC scholarships?

Similar for NROTC. NROTC application process normally opens up around April 1.
