Im a junior in high school and considering rotc as an option. When joining Air Force rotc without a scholarship, do I need a minimum SAT score of 1240? Or is that only for scholarship rotc people? What are the minimum requirements for joining rotc without a scholarship?

If you're not gunning for a scholarship I think the only academic requirement is to be enrolled in a university with an ROTC program. You should just be able to sign up for it as an elective course.

The thing you need to understand is that even scholarship cadets will have to be selected for SFT aka LEAD. This occurs during your sophomore year. It is based on a multitude of things...cgpa, ACT/SAT (best sitting), AFOQT, PFT, CC ranking. and whether you are tech or non-tech degree, and if you are going rated or non-rated.

Non-select for SFT, and they can disenroll you.

Believe it or not, but statistically only @16-18% of AFROTC cadets will be on scholarship. They are the minority.
~ AFROTC is different than A/NROTC. They DO NOT tie the scholarship recipient to the school. AFROTC cadets can take their scholarship to any school with AFROTC. IOWS, one school may have 75% on scholarship and another have 0%, but the overall scholarship rate nationally is 16-18%.
~~ DS's school had 30% on scholarship for freshmen year.

So the only time they will look at my SAT scores is when they are considering me for the Professional Officers Course?
