My running playlist needs an upgrade. What are some songs I might add? Eclectic is fine - current list has everything from ‘Running on Empty’ to ‘HOTTOGO’. TIA, Lucy Baconnaise.

I’m 53 years old.

My taste in music might be kind of stale to you.

I am also a firm believer in the Yerkes-Dodson Arousal Curve:

IIRC, Yerkes-Dodson says that there is an optimal level of arousal (external stimulus). Once that stimulus gets to some point, the performance drops off.

So my workout music choices trend towards hard rock or metal:

Dope—Die MF Die
Limp Bizkit— Break Stuff
Drowning Pool—Bodies
Chemical Brothers—Block Rockin’ Beats
Prodigy-Firestarter
Megadeath-Symphony of Destruction
Metallica—Enter Sandman
Pantera - Walk
Living Colour - Cult of Personality
L.L. Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out
DMX - Ruff Ryders Anthem
Filter. - Hey Man Nice Shot
Saliva -Click Click Boom
Faith No More -Epic
Credence Clearwater Revival - Run though the Jungle
AC/DC - Hells Bells
Korn - Shoots and Ladders
Crystal Method - Trip Like I Do
Rob Dougan - Clubbed to Death
Rammstein - Du Hast

Have a hard time running with music. I prefer to just listen to my body and pay attention to everything around me. I've just never gotten into running with music. I can't stand carrying anything, having anything in my ears, or strapped to my body, when I run. Cycling? Different story. I totally had headphones in a lot during training!

I'm a metal head, so anything hard and fast. Gojira, Vola, Megadeath, Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc.
