Running shoes or Trail Shoes

DS is in 2020 class, shopping for shoes, should they be trail shoes or running shoes?
 
What ever is the most comfortable wet or dry.

Go to a specialty running shoe store, not one of the box stores. The specialty store knows there products very well and just by asking a few questions and watching you walk they will know which shoes are best. If you do not know of a store near you ask one of the track or cross country coaches. My son got his last pair of shoes that way. They are by far the best, most comfortable running shoes he has ever had.
