Running shoes

Planning to get some running shoes for DS so he can break them in prior to start of PS. It looks like they use New Balance. Any other info I need before I buy a pair. Do they have to be the same as the issued pairs?
 
You can buy whatever pair fits your DS the best, there is not restriction on color or type.
 
Agree, buy whatever fits best. If you have the ability to and financial means, recommend you go to a running store and have them fit him and try many options on. A great fitting running shoe that fits his type/style of foot, stride, etc is well worth the money and can prevent stress fractures and shin splints. Is this isn't possible go to your local athletic store and try on tons of brands and find what fits and is comfortable. Break them in prior to plebe summer.
 
He is a cross country/track runner already so he pretty much knows what is good for his foot. He has some good shoes but they have color. If that is not a problem, he may just use them.
