OK, I know none of the Service Academies made it into this year's NCAA Basketball Tourney, but that doesn't mean we all can't show just how good we are at picking this year's winner?

For those of you interested, I've created a user group on ESPN.com for anyone on here who wants to submit a bracket. If you want to join in on this challenge (and don't mind registering an account at ESPN.com), it should be pretty simple:

1) if you don't have an ESPN account, it just takes a few minutes to register, 2) Go to ESPN's Bracket Challenge web page,
3) Look to join a group: the group's name is "SAF2012" (just use the search function provided),
4) join the group,
5) Submit your bracket

May the best person win! My side bet? The winner will be from the AF side of this site!:thumb:

One "sheet of integrity" or multiple entries?

Mulitple entries if you like; the max I believe is 10.

Of course, the number of entries you submit will be directly proportional to the ridicule you will mercilessly receive for your lack of confidence in your ability to pick correctly.

OK, I know none of the Service Academies made it into this year's NCAA Basketball Tourney,.....

No SA's made it into the Men's Tournament.

Navy women's team drew a #15 seed in the NCAA Women's Tournament.

They play #2 Maryland in Round 1.

In College Park.

Which means a quick exit for the Mids. :frown:

My sometime associate, the Rev. H. C. Earwicker, has just taken time from his ecumenical duties to compose an entry. Although he accurately predicted the outcome of the recent Superbowl, that can probably be attributed to his practice of always picking a New York team when it qualifies for postseason play.

I have reviewed his picks and find them to be almost stiflingly trite. His choice of upsets is almost charmingly idiotic. Apparently he is unaware of the difference between schools whose names begin or end with "St." Also he has given the benefit of the doubt to teams from Colorado because he believes the abundance of fresh air in that region of the country will enable those players to outlast their opponents.

Go Murray beat CO! KSU pick it up, 3 pts is not good enough!

Duh! 2 games down already and I'm already in sole possession of last place!

With Pima tied for 1st place! :unhappy:

I'll NEVER live this down tonight!:frown:

Yeah, but in the end I always lose when it comes to the Elite 8.

PS I wouldn't be concerned about living it down tonight...it is about living through it tomorrow at work because if I am tied for 1st here on SAF, I am betting I am doing well in the office bracket too!

OBTW, the joke in our house is I pick by which Mascot I like better! :yikes:

I'm tied for first after two games but I have a feeling I'll lose that quickly. Certain teams kill me every year, I'm an upset magnet.

Not to brag or anything .......

but I'm in first place! Woot Woot! :w00t::w00t:

Ok - it's a 3 way tie for first but I am going to enjoy the moment :yay: as I'm sure it will all crash and burn on me soon. :stretcher:

I noticed most of us have Kentucky.

Although I lost 3 last night, luckily I didn't have them winning the next round so I still have a shot.

Luigi,

A. I meant most of us have Kentucky for Championship, so we are all still safe in a way because of the point system.

If Kentucky went out last night I might as well have called it a day because I can't win.

B. The 3 teams that lost in my brackets were:
UConn
Wichita
UNLV

I had none of them winning in the next bracket, so for me I need Baylor, Kentucky and Indiana to move forward.

So, at the end of Round 2, Pima leads our little challenge with 25 of 32 games picked correctly. :thumb:

The next closest is Buff, with 22 correct picks.

Me? Sitting at the bottom with 20 correct picks

TWO #15 seeds beating #2 seeds! No one saw THAT coming!

And the next to last shall be first, says Earwicker. Though he had an anxious moment or two after #15 seeds Norfolk State and Lehigh won and #15 Detroit was playing even with eventual winner Kansas.

Earwicker (who does not have SAF privileges) insists that he was misquoted and that the above should have read "eventual tournament winner Kansas." This being the case, he asked me to inquire whether anyone might be willing to provide a small advance on his winnings.

I'm at the bottom right along side you, Bullet. After the St. Patty's day eve massacre my bracket is only somewhat intact. I still have my final four and 7/8 of my elite eight.
I don't care, though! I was cheering for Norfolk St and Lehigh all the way - two terrific games!!! I would have picked them but - ugh - I thought I should make my picks *reasonable* LOL.

JAM.

You are doing better than me overall because I only have 6 left of my 8, and come the end of today I could be really hurting.
