Hey guys,
So I want to branch in engineering and I was wondering how one could get into Sapper school during cow year. It states that only a limited number of cadet can attend so I was wondering if anyone can tell me how hard exactly and the requirements.

Thanks!

In order to attend Sapper School (or any other high-speed military school like CDQC (combat diver), Pathfinder, SFAS, RSLC, etc.), you have to go through the competitive MIAD tryouts. This year they were held in October and consisted of a good 7 hours of physically demanding activities with all candidates including an APFT, the IOCT, a ruck run, and other activities. After the general tryout is over you go into specialized tryouts. For instance, all of the Sapper candidates go with just other Sapper candidates and do the rest of the tryout. This specialized tryout varies from course to course. Afterwards, if selected you get to attend the school. This year there were 5 Cadets selected for Sapper school. The exact number varies from year to year but expect that to be a benchmark for future years.

Also, if you want to go Engineer you have a very high chance of getting a shot at Sapper after graduating BOLC, so it's not the end of the world if you don't get a slot as a Cadet.

Oh okay so its based on how well you perform physically and mentally
