Hey guys, been snooping around for a while but finally have an actual question that I think could use some input. I'm a high school junior this year, preparing to start my application for the class of 2027.

Starting June last year, the SAT essay was removed from the main SAT. As far as I'm aware, the writing portion is no longer offered. What does this mean for West Point apps? Have there been any official statements released as to what this means for my prospective class and our application process?

This is from the USMA applicant portal:

(2 Jun 2021) -
If taking the ACT, you must take the writing assessment.

If taking the SAT, you are not required to take the essay assessment. SAT will no longer offer the essay assessment after June 2021.
