My son turned in his new SAT score about ten days ago and it is not showing on his portal. His new score is much higher. Anyone know the average time this takes ? We sent emails earlier today and have heard nothing.

Official scores have to be sent to West Point from the College Board. I don't believe they will accept scores provided by an applicant.

I contacted my admissions technician from my regions team and emailed her my updated scores while she waited on the official report from Collegeboard.

They have it....

Ah, the silent treatment. The portal is slow to update. They have your scores, trust me. You have to take into consideration they're about 30 folks working together to compile Class of 2018 from 3000 application.

This is the most difficult time. The next 3 months of waiting can be torturous.

Please keep in mind a couple of things:

1) SAT sent doesn't mean WP or Admissions received. There have been some snow storms of late which will delay not just the mail delivery to the distribution center on WP. The mail dostribution center then has to get that mail to all of the departments plus all of the holiday mail for the entire community. Those snowstorms then compound the issue because the civilian employees working in the distribution center go home/don't come in when the weather turns bad in the area. Same thing for the admissions technicians who have to enter in that information into each candidates record.

2) once received, all of the test scores for everyone have to be entered manually. This is in addition to all of the other documentation and files for each candidates packet, pushing those files to the RC to review for qualification and answering everyone's questions. It's a small group who works all of this behind the scenes.

If something takes longer than two-three weeks after you send it, then it is OK to follow up with them. Might give it 3-4 with Christmas holidays starting next week plus all the nominations starting to arrive and more candidates completing their files.

It took my scores a month to show up. It all depends on how often they receive scores and when it is finally your turn to have your portal updated. Patience is the key factor, as stated above. I've been playing mailbox stalker for a couple of weeks now, and I imagine I will be doing so until I graduate high school.
